I HAVE AN OBSERVATION!!

Yong Xin feels random today, so don't read if you're busy. Random as in really random.

RI guys don't like to sit down on buses. I AM SERIOUS HAHA.

Last Friday i went on the bus after school, with uh at least 10 other RI dudes. NO ONE, and i mean not a soul, wanted to sit even though the bus was practically half-empty (except me :D)!

Then i asked some of them (who were STANDING next to rows of empty seats), "hey take a seat la."

"No la, it's quite bad. They're reserved anw."

It's been 3 years.

Must have missed it earlier on, or perhaps just couldn't find it. Some things just evade me.

But this place is so full of competition, I can't stand it. Sure, competition is everywhere, but the feeling sucks.

Then again, i love the opportunities provided.

So many things I've learnt, enjoyed, progressed, and grown to be.

Life is busy. Non-stop, hectic. Which is why sometimes, i really wish for a time-stop. To do things I wna do, develop myself, maximize my life. Even holidays now aren't much holidays.

Come to think of it, we are expected to be all-rounders. Majority of us, that is. All-rounding in subjects, in commitments, in talent, in many aspects of life. But sometimes, we spend so much time perfecting ourselves, neglecting, perhaps, the finer details of life. Perfection. Is it that important? Are people striving for perfection just for the sake of perfection? Or is perfection really necessary in our current, modernized life.

Sometimes, purpose is lost. Derailed in the track of striving for a certain something. Is it important to get back that purpose? Is there even a purpose, or just mindless working.

What is the correct formula for success, is there even success, or do we live on and question nothing.

Is there such a thing as a well-balanced, optimum learning. Do we merely focus on one, or be all-rounders. What would be the perfect balance.

It strikes me now.

Maybe my thinking's wrong. But I'm happy the way I am now, don't mistake me :D

Thank goodness for youth day. My weekend is absolutely spammed with homework D:

like giving back to the community. cause I saw this thing that says, in some country, the kids have never brushed their teeth, cos they cant afford it. and every morning they have to walk 15++ km to school! For those lucky ones who actually GO to school, that is. ):

Long weekends ftw :D

I was (trying to) studying for chem, and then i fell asleep in the process. When I woke up the first thing I heard was this huge rush of water. Huge. :O

TODAY IS LEARNING JOURNEY DAY
THEREFORE I HAVE NO LESSONS

We went to labrador park first. Actually all these places we go before lor, but i think s'pore v small so not much places to go. Saw the guns, cannons and stuff.

Oh theres this part where the guide said is really creepy at night. Even when we were there, theres one or two leaves inside that shake violently non-stop O_O but quite cool yeah. Apparently at night theres lot more weird stuff too :D

Thn went to bukit chandu (spelling?). Learn about this imba hero called adnan bn saidi. haha learnt about him in pri school, but kinda forgot what he did alr. The museum there is really cool, they made a video and hologram thing to commemorate the malay regiment for their brave fighting. But they're really brave and loyal soldiers.

Lt. Adnan bin Saidi

At first, the Malay soldiers see supposed reinforcement troops. However, the Lt. noticed that their way of marching was different, and immediately knew that they weren't from the same regiment.

They opened fire and killed the enemies.

But the enemy officers weren't happy with the way they were humiliated. They sent their full force to combat the Malay regiment, and outnumbered them completely.

Nonetheless, Lt. Adnan and his men fought to the very last bullet, and then, fought with their fists against guns and bayonets. And throughout the battle, their only thought was being loyal and staying true: death before dishonour.

The Lt. was captured and hung in a sack from a tree. The enemies then stabbed brutally with bayonets, and burnt him alive.

After learning journey my re group went to Tanglin to conduct lessons. They still cant rmb my name!! D: and they call me an an o.o

Next week's the last lesson alr. ah well it was really fun going down and having lessons :D i'll miss the experiences ):

Went down to support Cdiv badminton today (:

Though we didnt win, all of us who went down were really proud of those guys playing their heart and soul out on the court. Really well done raffles! :D

The 3rd game was really tense. We won the first set, then monfort took the 2nd, and the 3rd one was uber close! we were losing by.. 12-17 (around there) AND THEN jey-ren (the ri guy) really gave his all cause we could see that he was extremely tired alr. He managed to pull the score to a 19-19 score. Although we lost the next 2 points, everyone was really proud of him for really giving his all while playing against such a tough tough tough opponent D:

The weather has been so crazily hot these days.

LONG POST. i think. too many things to talk about O:

Haven't talked about hillary challenge yesterday :D

Started off with a 1km (20 lap) swim, completed in 24:30mins.
Then proceeded with station tests.

First one was memory, where there was a deck of cards arranged in a specific order, and another identical deck of cards elsewhere. The objective was to memorise cards and searching for them in the other deck, then laying them out in the same order one at a time. Since the faster one's team is, the better it is, it involved quite a lot of sprinting.

Proceeded on to rock wall where we had to climb it and touch the top.

Then was 'power up' O_O held in the gym. haha basically in 10 mins, the team is supposed to complete the most number of repetitions for a gym equipment. Sooo we started off with the biceps thingy of 36kg, followed by the thigh thingy, and chest Bleh. did averagely well but ~~muscles~~ fats were almost cramping after each machine ._.

Meanwhile jon see complains that i suan him o.o i think we have arnd the same fitness level haha although i always thought he was much fitter.

Last station was biking. basically had to run tests, then go for one circuit (route provided) where they test your turning stability etc.

was pretty much tired out by now, but still everything was damn fun (:

Wahaha and then at this point where everyone is hungry/tired/sleepy/aching, we had a 5km run >< THANKS BRYANLEEE yay you rock! :D without your encouragement and pushing me all the way i would have been much slower than my already slow 26mins.

dont think i have high chances of getting in though, i told mr chan i'd rather focus on 02 committment :D.

But still, IT WAS GREAT FUN (:

ORA DAY. haha it was fun! reached school at 7, and gifford (who kept telling us NOT TO BE LATE) was late by half an hour ._.

pencilcases were a SUCCESSSSS yay sold out design 2 and when i left at 12.30 sales were going well for design 1. design 3 didnt work out that well though.

today was REALLY crowded and you had to spend ages just moving from one place to another. lets say half the school size of each raffles school came... imagine almost 3000 people in the rj canteen!! D:

skating was funn! but the equipment still stinks though. i mean, before skating my socks were white, and after i took them out of the skates, they were half black ><
went to rj to skate, but i dont think we had permission, so stoned around at the atrium for 'performance' by the instructors. whee one of the instructors had 4 of us (including me) lie on the floor and he skated over us ._. HAHA LUCKILY. jon see was the one closest to the landing hence most at risk :P

i wish life was so simple, i really do :D

sean was discussing friends with me just now, hmm i have lots of friends, but only a few really close ones - 02 batchmates, a few schoolmates, and a few friends. and he says there are some people who just make use of others, but i always preferred thinking that (most) of the world is fair and great :D naive, perhaps.

anw on to my post! :) today and yesterday made me loveeee life again after busy weeks of school.

Dear Diary,

whee i had a good friday today :D:D or good enough, though i didnt manage to go for class gathering (but only 5 dudes went anw).

so anw my mom invited her friend over for dinner. it was kinda fun :D her husband has lots of cool interesting stories!

HAHA and i found out that jialing was evil in primary school! :P too bad cant put the handwriting thing here haha.

i think s'pore is really super fast paced ): there just isn't time for people to stop, think and relax. at least for me. sometimes all i want to do is just to let time stop - stop for me to enjoy, relax, slow down and catch up.

haha but time never does.

oh no see la sean. you made me reflect so much now my good friday is ending emo-ly. hell lot of things going on in my mind now ): i feel like posting so that i'll won't feel bottled up but haha i dont want to sound emo longwinded and a hundred other adjectives so.. :D

oh well, loved today (: ohdamn i havent practiced for piano tmr.

Hmm i wonder why i created a blog myself.

Ooh first post! :D

Today got back some results. english was.. kinda lower than expected. oh and i was uber careless for maths TA and physics quizzzz ><. damn.

My first lesson with Tanglin! Yeah it's my re project where we go down to tanglin special school and teach them drama. today was quite fun tho :D managed to get them to do masks and try to understand what humility is. wahaha and we faked photos!

Skating was fun haha maybe cause i can finally IN LINE SKATE WHEEE (somewhat ;p)
Patrol bonding was fun, i didn't really know what to do but thanks to ryan for coming up with all the cool stuff :)

can't wait for orca pms but at the same time still kinda lost in this new post. like first time downing troop ):
